"The world's greatest waterfalls"             

Murchison Falls national park at the northern part of the Albertine rift valley is the largest and oldest conservation area in Uganda divided by the mighty Victoria Nile with a variety of over 450 bird species and 76 mammals.

The park is commonly known for the falls, hippos, and shoebill stork however numerous animals like elephants, giraffes and buffalos can be seen at the river bank while on the launch trip you may view numerous crocodiles, hippos and water birds that are the parks permanent residents.

Birding

The park's main bird attraction is the shoebill sighted in dry seasons from January-March, however both the game drive and the launch trips give you the opportunity to see numerous savannah forest birds, water birds and albertine rift endemics.

Cultural encounter

Watch the Mubako perform around lodge camp fires, the women group that offers accommodation, craft shop or have a village tour to witness the realities of rural life

Game drive

A game drive on the northern bank with a well-trained ranger guide will give you a great trail to view and photograph a wide range of animals in the Nile valley. Not only that your guide will give you a good idea where the lions are hiding you may even spot a leopard.

Hiking and nature walk

The vast landscapes and scenery of Murchison falls and conservation area can be explored by foot. Trails through Kaniyo Padidi and Rabongo forests give you the view of many birds and primates. While around the Nile delta, 2-4hrs guided swamp walk offer possible sight of the shoebill stork

Launch trip

Upstream from Para on the launch trip displays wondrous display of wildlife and culminates with a beautiful view of the falls. Recommended for birders is the morning cruise downstream to the Nile-lake Albert delta. Or you can get a classic view of an equatorial sunset reflected on the river.

Sport fishing

Below Murchison falls on the banks of the Nile gives an exciting challenge to anglers along with the Nile perch. You could make a big catch of over 100kg!

Hot air balloons

Get off for a wildlife viewing but with an entirely different perspective with an absolute stillness. The silence as you float in the air above the plains and rivers of Murchison falls national park will give you ample time for wildlife viewing, photography and filming.
