Day 1: Transfer to Sipi falls
Have breakfast, after head to Sipi falls enjoy a beautiful scenic view of sipi where you shall hike to the falls upon arrival. This hike exposes you to banana and coffee plantations. The trail is a little steep and puzzling but the reward is brilliant especially during the photo moment at the falls later, have lunch and visit a coffee plantation where you shall learn about the cycle of processing coffee traditionally. Later head back to the lodge, pound, sort, roast and finally enjoy your own cup of coffee.
Day 2: Runners experience and Sabinyi cultural walk
Wake up call, visit the cradle of Uganda’s world class running talent where Kiprotich, Kipsiro and Cheptegei have developed skills, discuss about training strategies with elite athletes even better go for a run yourself. Later, enjoy your lunch and head down to the village homes for an exciting exposure. Experience local Sabinyi customs including food, dance and local beverage learn a few skills and even try some food and beverage. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Nyero rock painting and Iteso community walk
After breakfast, head to a place the Teso people call home but First, we shall make a stopover at Nyero rock painting, a rock art part of the late Stone Age hunter-gatherer culture. These paintings enrich the cultural identity of the Iteso break for lunch and continue to Soroti upon arrival you shall have a community walk, dance and cultural exchange interaction dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Shoebill tracking on Lake Opeta (canoeing)
After breakfast with packed lunch enjoy your canoeing while tracking the shoebill. During the track, enjoy the amazing view of the wetland as well as multiple bird encounters and head to Moroto through Pian-upe for a more exciting and typical African experience dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Tour Moroto town and experience the night life
After breakfast, enjoy your ride around Moroto town. Ever seen a typical African cattle auction? Well it’s always done on Mondays and if you’re lucky to be there on Monday morning then you might as well enjoy the exchange, still more to see! Visit craft shops for some souvenirs, local market and historical sites. It gets better on our local motorcycles known as the “boda-bodas” later have lunch and head to the near-by village to explore how the manyattas look like, a traditional home stead that has existed and been passed on for generations. Engage in the local activities as well as interaction with the local people who are always friendly and welcoming to their communities to share with you their life in a place called home. Day 6: Mineral tour and a night with Nomadic Karimajong warriors in the kraal
This particular area is dry and the people of this sub-region have adapted to the dry climate. Living here are gold miners, we shall visit a mining family which will take us through the mining process with us and also invite you to take part in the process however well as gold is a great paying mineral to extract, the miners hardly get enough from the gold and this has exposed the families to poverty making the main source of survival tourism to these particular families. Later break for lunch and head to the kraal. Visiting Karamoja without a tour with the nomads limits the experience! Karimajong people have been pastoralists for a very long time and treasure their cattle. Here you shall learn a lot about how they herd cattle, how they depend on the cattle for food and hydration say the piercing of the cattle to drink fresh blood, how they pick wild vegetables and how they socialize say the board games they play in the evenings and during the day, this is a very interesting experience since there is a touch of camp fire and a chill with the warriors who sit together to tell stories under the bright stars. Day 7: Transfer to Ikland village and bee keeping tour
Have breakfast and head to Ikland a rather interesting place to see when you visit the pearl of Africa. This is the smallest tribe in Uganda that were early inhabitants of Kidepo valley national park more than 40 years ago before it was reserved as a national park, causing these inhabitants to displacement and settlement in the mountain ridges. Upon arrival, take a village tour and then lunch will be served at Ikland. Later we shall camp in Kimion a little village overlooking the rift valley of Turkana in Kenya but before the night we shall have a bee keeping tour to see how the locals harvest honey because this is one thing that is highly valued and depended on here in Ikland, it is very interesting that honey is also offered as bride price.
Day 8: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park 7hrs
Have breakfast with packed lunch and head to Kidepo valley national park to add the excitement on the safari. The scenery is always great in Karamoja region. Upon arrival stretch your legs after the long hours on the road. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Morning and afternoon Game drive
Have breakfast and head down for the animal search. Kidepo is a typical expression of African wildlife that will give you exposure to not only animal species but also bird species. The park is well known for cheetahs, stripped hyenas and the big game like elephants, lions, buffaloes that can be spotted during the game drive. Later break for lunch and after head back for the second game drive still more animals zebras, bat-eared fox, warthogs, giraffes, elephants among other animals and birds like ostriches, pygmy falcon, fox kestrel among others. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 10: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
Transfer to Murchison falls national park, Uganda’s largest and one of the most ancient national parks of all, lying on the albertine rift valley. During your travel enjoy the scenery of the local people and their basic way of life, Lunch will be had during the course of our travel. Upon arrival, freshen up, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 11: Early morning game drive plus afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast, embark on the game drive and explore animals at their full strength that is in terms of hunting and relating among their kind. This is a great opportunity to view early risers and will give you great opportunity to spot elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, warthogs among other animals in the park. Have lunch and proceed to the Nile for a 2 hours boat cruise that exposes you to water animals like hippos, crocodiles and other animals on the river banks that come to feed or escape from the sun like elephants and buffaloes not forgetting birds like kingfishers and fish eagles can also be spotted. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Transfer to Kampala
After our breakfast, we shall embark on our journey to Kampala have lunch during the travel and after transfer to the airport which shall mark the end of our exciting safari. Thank you for choosing Pamora safaris Uganda.
